Acne Basics and General Information
Welcome to Acne Scar Treatment, please have a look around and enjoy your stay!
Surely you know someone or maybe you yourself have had to deal with it, what am I talking about? Acne of course, I don’t think anybody in their right mind likes it let alone feels comfortable with it. Up to 80% of the population in their teenage years and early twenties have to suffer the unsightly and uncomfortable skin condition that haunts us throughout our adolescence. Strangely enough it can and does effect up to 5% of the adult population throughout the world as well, who may well have been dealing with it for years upon years, image how that would and could make you feel.
Acne is considered a part of puberty, simply for the fact that it is so common in teens and so hard to look after and treat. Usually acne is caused by the hormonal changes in a young person’s body during puberty, the really good news is that most of the teenagers that suffer from these symptoms will have clear skin the time they are past puberty.
Blackheads, whiteheads, pimples and cysts the visible results may differ from individual to individual but the same concept is that the skin breaks out into little lumps and bumps that look visibly sore can be quite red and some slight swelling can also occur. Acne Vulgaris the most common type of acne and present in the majority of teens will usually show its ugly face on the sufferer’s neck, shoulders, upper back, chest and obviously…face.
The simple fact of the matter is that your skin has hair follicles/pores, these pores contain special oil glands which help to keep your skin and hairs moisturized and stop them from drying out from the harsh sun, wind and rain. The oil that comes from these little pores all over your body cannot really be seen but there is a certain amount that is ‘normal’ for your body to be excreting. As a teenager is growing up and going through puberty their hormones are getting stimulated causing the pores to overreact, this in turn creates more oil and combined with dead skin cells bacteria can get trapped in the pores. The trapped bacteria will and can result in redness and slight swelling and soon to be dreaded pimples, zits, blackhead and whiteheads.

Teenagers and Acne
Acne Vulgaris affects around 80% of the teenage population which is a very large amount of people. If you are part of the twenty or so percent that have not got acne or never did count yourself lucky because you may never fully be able to understand just how much acne can affect a person’s self esteem.
Firstly, yes I have had acne, it wasn’t very bad acne but it was bad enough to stop me from feeling the best about myself. This is bound to happen, let’s think about it. You’re having fun at school, learning and playing sports, you don’t have a worry in the world and then suddenly one morning you wake up to this large red pimple! How many of you can relate to this!? Hundreds, I’m sure of it. So this pimple is only one and you might think nothing of it until you get another and another and another and then suddenly you’re conscious of these foreign things on your face.
At this point you can really see that acne can cause serious problems with young teens and here at acne scar treatment we’re just trying to get together some really useful and easily read information for you all before you head to the doctors or get some medication etc.
Teenagers are quite fragile, with raging hormones and the desire to be independent they really want to grow up before they can, we’ll leave that debate right there but the last thing a teenager needs when they are trying to woo the opposite sex and get their first high school kiss is ACNE! The skin breaks out with pimples and blackhead and whiteheads and cysts and the self confidence of a carefree teenager suddenly drops about 10,000 leagues under the sea.
This is serious stuff though, some teens have low self esteem already and this is that last thing they need, let’s face it, everyone has had comments made to them or about them about the condition of their skin it completely natural or maybe you have even picked on someone for having acne. Truth is it’s nature, 80% remember that figure, 80% of teens are dealing with acne you’re not alone and you are certainly not the only one with it!
